Hey Jerry, this is your sister. As always you write about things I know nothing about in a way that makes me want to read about 'em! On the subject of whether you did the right thing by providing the "show", my vote is yes! I know you will live (well we can hope, at least, at our age) to go for the go..Race on! Sis

I think I would've gone for the "go," but the "show" probably made for a better story. This time...

Wow, after reading your story, I'm sorry I didn't stay for the the action after the Solo 1 races on friday! (I had to get to the Mini dealer in Vegas before they shut down. Their temp fix got me the 600 miles back home ok. My bloomin' shifter knob came off right at the green flag going into corner 1 on my first pass in the Autocross Solo 1. That knob flopping around on top of the boot while I was trying to figure out where to stuff the shifter rod sure didn't aid my times any. But it made for a great thrill ride!)
I had the greatest instructor out there (other than you, Jerry, of course >;-) ) - and that was Clark Brownstein. Thanks to Clark, I now know more about how to make my R56 perform efficiently thru the twists. I couldn't absorb all the advice shouted from Clark in the passenger seat, but I didn't repeat mistakes more than twice. I figure I got 80% of it down. Heck...that works for me. Thanks Clark! Thanks Phil! --- Silver w/Black roof '08 R56 (#30) John Weitz, Sandia Park, N.M.
